About EmergySystems

I established EmergySystems around 2001 as a place to make information and resources on emergy and systems ecology widely available. For many years, the site served as a repository for publications, lectures, data, and other materials related to emergy and the study of human and natural systems.

Several years ago, I closed the site and transferred its accumulated resources to the Emergy Society website, where those materials remain available. EmergySystems has now been reestablished with a somewhat different purpose. Rather than duplicate the earlier archive, this site will provide new materials and resources developed since that transition.

It will also provide a place for the continuing exploration and discussion of ideas. The Reflections series will present essays on emergy, systems ecology, economics, information, and related subjects—some extending established concepts and others exploring questions that are still developing.
